Many people \"stumble\" into a career without having given it much thought. The classic choice is business studies, which unfortunately is often chosen because the student can't think of anything better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The classic choice for those who don't know exactly what they want to do professionally: Study business administration<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I'm not saying that business studies has no right to exist. I am simply pointing out that many people have not really thought through their choice of subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frameworks help to make better decisions. This is what it's all about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finding your own goal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finding the best way to get there<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most frameworks come in the form of books, but there are also online courses, workshops and much more. In the video I present the following three frameworks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>7 Habits<\/strong>: Stephen Covey's book is called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3JNChzV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon<\/a>) and is also available in German (<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/43soFRK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon<\/a>). In the meantime, it has become a whole franchise, with its own version for young people, workbooks and much more. I first got my hands on the book in the 1990s. The seven habits help you to structure your own life, not just your professional life. Highly recommended!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Business Model You<\/strong>: This beautifully designed book is also available in the original English (<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/43soFRK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon<\/a>) and German (<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/44C1Cou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon<\/a>). It applies the \"canvas\" developed by Alexander Osterwalder to personal careers. The business canvas was originally designed for developing business models. If you like to work visually and would like to have tools for brainstorming, this book is certainly suitable for you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Self Authoring<\/strong>: These are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.selfauthoring.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a web-based writing system<\/a>which was developed by Jordan Peterson. The system consists of four modules that allow you to systematically examine four aspects of your own life through guided writing. These are: (1) past, (2) future, (3) present (weaknesses) and (4) present (strengths). Jordan Peterson may be a controversial personality, but that does not detract from the effectiveness of this program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The implementation of this guiding principle is a written result, the form of which depends on the framework. This can be a personal mission statement or a pinboard with hundreds of pieces of paper.
