Why systems.camp Berlin 2017 will be a hit!
Readers of this blog have known it for a long time: Barcamps are a conference format that has gained enormous popularity in recent years - and not without reason: at a barcamp, each participant can ensure that their topic is examined in detail by a group of experienced practitioners. The price: equally willing to share your own knowledge. The few euros contribution should be seen more as a nominal fee.
I had the pleasure of working with Andrea Ramge and Julia Knospe for the first time last year on the system.camp under the auspices of GfSE co-organize. The plan is now to organize four systems.camps per year in all four corners of the world. In spring, the Munich systems.camp was organized by Colin Hood and Claudia Bösewetter organized, now it goes on May 13 with the systems.camp Berlin organized by Eike Appel, Niels Krüger and Stephan Dankers. Anyone who pays attention to systems engineering in Germany has noticed that the systems engineering community has been growing in recent years. The relevance of systems engineers in companies seems to be increasing to the same extent.

The beginnings
The foundation stone was laid by Thomas Görtz from seneos GmbH and Maik Pfingsten from Future Architects Podcast in summer 2013 with the first systems.camp in Cologne. Stephan Dankers and Eike Appel were among the participants who were fascinated by the event.
When Maik approached us at a listeners' meeting in Berlin, the idea was born to organize such a barcamp on systems engineering in Berlin with the support of Niels Krüger and Stephan Dankers. In February 2014, the time had come: the systems.camp took place for the first time in Berlin-Zeuthen. At this event, too, the spark was passed on to all participants. In the following year, the organizing team was formed around systems.camp Berlin in the composition that still exists today.
The systems.camp is growing up
Over the course of 2016, the systems.camp format was integrated into the GfSE as an event. This now provides systems.camp with an organizational structure in which it can continue to grow in a coordinated manner. In line with this, further organizers have been found for the two newly added systems.camp North and South. The two events in Hamburg in December 2016 and in Munich in February 2017 have once again shown that the systems engineering community is growing!
It's that time again...
On May 13, 2017, systems.camp Berlin will enter its fourth round. As in the last two years, we are at MELAG Medizintechnik oHG as a guest. At the academy there, we will once again have space for creative exchange, controversial discussions and getting to know other like-minded people.
Starting this year, registration will take place via the GfSE. Pre-sales have been running since the end of March, so be quick, because the number of participants is limited and tickets are, as always, in high demand!
Why-up the evening before
Once again this year, there will be a warm-up event the evening before together with the SE-Stammtisch Berlin at Restaurant Pinelli. Participation here is independent of participation in systems.camp and is organized via the Xing Group "Systems Engineering Berlin" organized.
We, the organizers, are really looking forward to an exciting, inspiring and relaxed event, as we have experienced repeatedly with you as participants in recent years.
