syscamp.nord: The Systems Camp Nord in Hamburg

syscamp.north

Barcamps have already been reported on several times in this blog: For example from the Systems Camp Berlin in April of this year, or the one that I will soon be helping to organize. Modeling Camp in Hanover in November. Today I would like to syscamp.north introduce (to the registration >>), which I am also helping to organize, and which will take place on 3 December in Hamburg.

History of the Systems Camps in Germany

This Systems Camp is already the fourth. The barcamp idea itself has been around for a long time and comes from - you guessed it - from the USA. And there were also 150 barcamps on all kinds of topics in Germany in 2014. Fittingly, Maik Pfingsten and Thomas Görtz also decided to organize two barcamps on systems engineering that year. The organization was then handed over to Stephan Dankers, Niels Krüger and Eike Appel, who ensured a sold-out Barcamp in Berlin this year.

GfSE takes over the Systems Camp

In order to do justice to the great interest, all those involved decided to officially announce the camp to the Company for Systems Engineering to hand over. As a non-profit organization, the GfSE has much better opportunities to systematically expand the format. As I had found a few fellow campaigners in my current project, we were able to quickly establish the framework for syscamp.nord. In addition to me, Juia Knospe (center) and Andrea Ramge (right) are also part of the team.

At GfSE, the Systems Camp is being driven forward by a working group that is currently still being set up. Nevertheless, we were able to organize this event quickly: On the one hand, the GfSE supported us actively and unbureaucratically. On the other hand OOSEThis makes the organization much easier for us, as they make their premises available to us.

The Systems Camp North

What such a barcamp looks like has already been describedParticipants bring their own topics and put together the agenda for the event on the spot. So if you show a little initiative, you can be sure that the topic of your choice will be covered.

Personally, I hope that the Barcamp will attract a colorful mix of different industries. After all, aircraft construction, shipbuilding and medical technology can be found in the north, and as a large city, Hamburg has many IT service providers.

Personally, the topic of modeling is currently close to my heart, especially the modeling of requirements. Before that, I will be attending two more barcamps this year, which will certainly expand and/or shift the focus of my topics. Another topic that I will certainly be bringing with me is tools.

In short, we are sure that the syscamp.nord will be an exciting event for systems engineers. The participation fee has not yet been fixed and will probably be between €30 and €50 and should rather be seen as a nominal fee (catering will be provided).

We are looking forward to an exciting event and a lively exchange of knowledge and experience. gladly accept registrations.
