Medium.com: What is your opinion?

Today I have a request: I have a lot of English-language content and am considering posting it on Medium.com. Medium is a content platform that is showing up more and more frequently in search results and often has amazingly good content. Should I migrate English content to Medium? If so, please reply to this email or leave a comment on the blog!
The background to this idea is explained below:
A sample article at Medium.com
To give you an example of what it's all about, I've posted one of my articles on Medium:
What is Medium.com?
Medium fills a gap in the market: Medium is a platform that enables people to share their ideas in the form of articles. This makes Medium a hybrid between social media and blogs.
Medium.com is a hybrid between social media and blogs
In contrast to social media, Medium works with essays and not short snippets of text. And unlike a blog, the essays are not written by one or a few authors, but by anyone who wants to publish. (Somewhat snivellingly, I have to say the slow death of RSS think. But that's another topic).
Medium does not require exclusivity. This means that I my collection of english articles from my blog in order to publish them on Medium.
Medium has a "soft" paywall: you can read up to three articles per month for free, after which you need a low-cost subscription. Authors receive a payout based on how many paying users have read their content.
Why am I considering using Medium.com as a platform?
My goal is to convey the essence of systems engineering to the right people. With my own blog (as well as this blog) this is usually done via a web search (to 90% Google search). Medium could be a suitable tool to present content in a context that goes beyond a simple search. I have already found many good articles on systems engineering on Medium. My English content would fit in well there.
It is also important to me that I do not need to remove the original content. This means in particular that all my articles remain readable outside of Medium's soft paywall.
How can you help?
Quite simply:
- If you already have a Medium.com account, then please follow me by clicking on "Follow" on my Medium page. If I decide to use Medium, it will help me to build a community there.
- Do you already have experience with Medium? Good or bad, I'm interested in your opinion. You can leave your thoughts in the comments section below without registering.
- Do you have any other ideas on how I can reach the right readers (without too much effort)? Again, I would be grateful for any feedback.
