IoT security: a tsunami is coming

The numbers are impressive: there will be 1 trillion connected devices by 2035, but less than 4% of today's new devices have embedded security. Let's not forget that these devices will be in use for years, maybe even decades. We are bound to see a few more major disasters in IoT security.

But there is also hope: on the one hand, awareness is increasing dramatically. For another, there are comparatively simple solutions. This article summarizes Haydn Povey's keynote at ECS 2018, and confirms what I recently wrote on the subject (What to do to prevent security from becoming a PR disaster).
